Heterósido: ranunculina, that is transformed easily protoanemonina and later into anemonina. Esteroles and tannins.
Farmacológica Action
The protoanemonina has antibacterial, antitusiva, antispasmodic action, mainly at uterine and digestive level.
Indications
Espasmos at uterine or gastrointestinal level, spasmodic cough, dismenorreas, hemicráneas.
Contraindications
Pregnancy, lactancia, hepatopatías.
Indirect effect
The fresh plant, applied topically, can produce a blistering effect.
Precaution/Poisonings
The fresh plant contains anemonina and protoanemonina, that produce loss of sensitivity and depression of the respiratory and cardiac nervous centers. Although these substances disappear with the drying, we recommended to abstain from their prescription in ponderales doses.
