Active Principles
Bitter principles: estictínico acid (of structure next to cetrárico acid); mucílagos.
Farmacológica Action
To the bitter principles one attributes its aperitive action, eupéptica, colagoga and antiemética, bacteriostática and antifúngica to them. To the mucílagos, although present in little amount, a demulcente and balsámica action.
One has been used from old fighting bronchial problems, following the theory of the signatures.
The bitter principles induce an increase of the cloropéptica secretion, reason why when it is prescribed for the treatment of the gastroduodenales ulcers, we recommended to associate it to demulcentes drugs, like the root of malvavisco.
Galénicas Forms/Dosage
Infusion: a spoonful of dessert by cup. Three cups to the day.
