Used Part
The drug (Viola tricoloris herba) is constituted by the flowery sumidades dried of Viola arvensis Murray and/or Viola tricolor L.
Active Principles
It contains salicílico acid (0,06-0,3%) and derivatives, like the glucoarabinósido, called corresponding methyl salicylate and its violutósido or violotusina one, in addition to other acids fenoles like acids trans-cafeico, cis and trans-p-cumárico, gentísico, protocatéquico and others. She is rich in mucílago (15%), made up of glucose (35%), galactosa (33%), arabinosa (18%) and ramnosa (8%), as well as 2,4-4,5% of tannins. There are isolated diverse flavonoides: routine, violantina, escoparina, saponarina and vitexina, saponaretina, orientina, isoorientina the C-heterósidos, vicenina-2 and a new flavonoide I gave-C-glucosido, the violarvensina (apigenina-6-C-beta-D-glucopiranosil-8-C-beta-D-6-deoxygulopirano).
Other components are antocionósidos and carotenoid the tannins (2-5%), as the violoxantina (a mixture of 4 geometric isomers) and small amounts of saponinas, acid ascórbico and alpha-tocoferol. It contains cyclical peptides, of 29 to 31 aminacídicos remainders with 3 bridges disulfuro (violapéptido I and peptides varv).
According to the RFE, the dried flowery sumidad it must contain like minimum a 1.5% of total flavonoides, expressed like violantina.
Farmacológica Action
In the popular medicine it has been used to treat respiratory affections, as helping in case of reumatismo and drop, as well as diurético and diaforético, among others.
Its diurética action is discussed; it would not increase the volume of tinkles but the chloride elimination. In rat it has shown activity on certain models of cutaneous affections.
Indications
According to the Commission and it is indicated in external use for slight seborreicas cutaneous affections as well as milky scab of the children.

Galénicas Forms/Dosage
According to the Commission and, except for another prescription, 1.5 drug g in infusion form or decocción, 3 times to the day, or doses equivalent of prepared others for external use.
According to the Standardzulassung, to put 2 teaspoons (about 4 g) of thought in hot water (about 150 mililiter.) and, spent 10 minutes, to strain. Except for another prescription, to prepare, several times to the day, an infusion that will be applied in promotion form.
