Liliáceas Family.

Description: Plant with similar bulb to a onion, from which it leaves a stem delicate, very fragile, cylindrical. The leaves are arranged solely On guard basal and are born from the bulb. They are fleshy, long, linear, with the acute apex. The apical cluster contains sterile flowers and fertile flowers: these last ones are maintained by pedúnculo that excels of small lanceoladas brácteas. Cylindrical Corola of violet color. The fruit is a capsule with almost spherical seeds. Enough it frequents in the edges of the forest and next to the footpaths. The stem can reach 35 cm. is collected in spring.

Indications: Diurética, emollient.

Way of use: Decocción, cataplasm

Information of interest: The bulbs are eatable after boiling, in order to eliminate the bitter substance. Once dry they can be used in external applications for the reddened skins. It has identical properties that the onion, mainly diuréticas. The bulb can be conserved in vinegar, and loses great part of the bitter substances that contains.
