Family: Osmundáceas.

Description: Fern of great bearing. Rizoma is arranged On guard cants in the ground, and from the same one they are developed frondes, that can reach meters of height both. They have triangular form, with vertex finished in end of pink brown color, and are carrying of the esporangios, that are opened in two valvas, favoring the reproduction with the emission of the esporas. The remaining green leaves are on pecíolo long and robust, and are formed by sésiles folíolos ready two to two, almost opposed. It grows on crowd lands, next to the channels. It is collected in autumn.

Composed chemical: Tannin, osmundina, filícico acid, mucílagos.

Properties: Diurético, astringent, vulnerario.

Way of use Dusts, decocción, enolito, tinctures.

Of interest: With frondes mattresses and pillows make that develop one tried antirheumatic action. It is often used as it plants ornamental of interior. Externally it has some effectiveness in emplastes on hurt or the zones attacked of reuma.
