The tannins determine an action astringent (antidiarreico and the hemostatic premises); the potassium salts, diurética. The fruits, by their antociánicos derivatives, produce a vitaminic effect P.
Indications
- Leaves, root: diarreas, enterocolitis. States in which an increase of the diuresis is required: genitourinarias affections (cystitis, uretritis, uretritis, pielonefritis, oliguria, urolitiasis), hiperazotemia, hiperuricemia, drop, arterial hypertension, edemas, overweight accompanied by retention of liquids.
In topical use (leaves): hurt and dérmicas, buccal or corneales ulceraciones, blefaritis, conjuntivitis, parodontopatías, faringitis, eczemas, eritemas, prurito, vulvovaginitis.
- Fruits: hair fragility, varices and hemorroides, nourishing use.
Contraindications
Leaves: gastritis, Gastroduodenal ulcer: the tannins can irritate the gastric mucosa, this indirect effect can be palliated associating it to drugs with mucílagos, like the malvavisco.
Not to prescribe forms of metering with alcoholic content for oral administration to smaller children of two years nor to consultantes in process of etílica deshabituación.
Indirect effect
Used internally it can give a reddish coloration to tinkles and lees, by the pigment elimination, lacking pathological meaning.
The fruits contain glycoproteins that can be alérgizantes in hypersensible people.
Precaution/Poisonings
To make sure that the leaves and the fruits they come from biological culture (the intensive agricultural production requires the frequent application of insecticides and herbicidas).
To consider the alcoholic content of the fluid extract and the dye.
Galénicas Forms/Dosage
Internal use:
- Decocción by roots and rizoma: 20 g/l, to boil 30 minutes, three or more glasses to the day.
- dry Extract (5:1): 0,3 to 1.8 g/día.
- fluid Extract (1:1): 20-40 drops, one to three times to the day.
- It tinctures (1:5): 50-100 drops, one to three times to the day.
- Fruits: nourishing use, syrups.
External use:
- Decocción of leaves: 30 g/l, to instill 10 minutes, in baths, compresas, colutorios, garglings, coirises or baths ocular (to isotonizar) or washed vaginal.
