Of the family of the Convolvuláceas.

Laxative. Stimulating of the bile. Tonic of the digestion.

Description: it plants vivaz trepadora, of the family of the Convolvuláceas, whose stems reach up to 2.5 meters in length. Their leaves are acorazonadas, and the flowers, great and of pure white color. Very similar to correhuela greater.

The whole plant.

Active Principles

Gomosa resin (10%): dalapina; plans of alkaloids, flavonoides, saponósidos, acid caféico, tannins (7% in the leaves).

Farmacológica Action

The resin has a lax-laxative action similar to the one of jalapa, but smoother; the alkaloids confer coronary vasodilator a hypotensile action to him and; the flavonoides, an activity colagoga. In topical use one is used like healing.

Indications

Occasional constipation, disquinesia to hepatobiliar, hypertension, coronary insufficiency. One was used like laxative in antihelmínticos treatments.

Contraindications

Pregnancy, lactancia, children.

Treatment with heterósidos cardiotónicos.

Precaution/Poisonings

Not to take than three days followed more. Not to exceed the indicated doses: in greater doses it can cause gastroenteritis.

Galénicas Forms/Dosage

- Infusion: 5 to 10 g/l, three cups to the day, before the meals. Like laxative, to 3%, a cup in uninformed.

- It draws resin from: 0,5 to 1 g to the day.

- Dust: 1 to 2 g/día.
