Description: Perennial grass, acaule, of about 15 cm. of height. Simple, whole leaves, with long pecíolos, suborbiculares, with the crenado margin. Axillary flowers, long pedunculadas; 5 sépalos; 5 petals, unequal, violáceos and fragant. Capsular, indehiscente fruit.
Origin
Natural of the Mediterranean, China and Japan. Naturalized in Central Europe. Cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide.
Location
Barely cultivated on domestic scale.

Without verified therapeutic effects.

Flowers: respiratory affections, migraines, fevers; topically, Flowers: ulcers, fistulas and sores. Roots: vomiting bronchitis and. Seeds: diurético. Leaves: antiinflammatory and emollient (skin and eyes). All the plant is used to deal with ulcers and cancer stomach.
