In 1997, at world-wide level, the wheat occupied the third place in the yield with 2,69 ton.ha-1; on national scale ton.ha-1 occupied the first place in yield with 4,32 and the value of production was of $ 3'715,900,600 dollars.

Farmacológica Action
- Bran: laxative, saciante, hipocolesterolemiante, hipoglucemiante (it reduces the intestinal reabsorción of glúcidos lipids and); demulcente, decisive. When increasing the fecal elimination of calcium, is recommendable for the people with urolitiasis.
- Flour: nutritious, antiflogística, decisive.
- Germ, oil of germ: vitaminic, hipolipemiante.
- Leavening: antiflogística.
Indications
- Bran: constipation, helping in treatments of overweight, hiperlipidemias, urolitiasis, diabetes, diverticulosis, syndrome of the null and voidable intestine.
- Bran and/or flour (white or integral), in external use: Hematomas, contusions, inflammations you will articulate, mialgias, colds, tonsilitis, inespecíficas cutaneous eruptions of the suckling babies.
- Starch: Demulcente, helping in the pharmaceutical elaboration of tablets (like desintegrante); antidote of the poisonings by iodine.
- Leavening: forúnculos.
- Germ, oil: arteriosclerosis, hiperlipidemias.
Contraindications
Flour: Intolerancia to the gluten.
Precaution/Poisonings
At the beginning and during the treatment with fiber, glucemia will be due to control to fit, if outside necessary, the doses of insulin or oral antidiabetics.
Galénicas Forms/Dosage
Internal use:
- Bran: 20 g/día, in two takings, accompanied by abundant water.
We recommended to establish the dose of progressive form, and to add carminativas plants, to palliate the flatulencia.
- Germ: a sopera spoonful or of dessert, one to three times to the day.
- Oil of wheat germ: one to three teaspoons of dessert to the day, or in form of soft capsules.
External use:
- Bran, flour: used popularly as heat vehicle in form of hot dry saquitos or emplastos or compresas prepared with hot water or vinegar.
