Iridoides: asperulósido. Colorantes substances, heterósidos of hidroxiantraquinonas (1,5%): rubiadín-primaverósido, rubiadín-glucósido ruberítrico acid (that unfolds in alizarina and primaverosa), purpurina. Fitosteroles: beta-sitosterol.
Farmacológica Action
Diurético, antiseptic, lax-laxative, colerético, antiinflammatory, emenagogo. The leaves have hypotensile properties.
Indications
Oliguria, renal litiasis, cystitis, uretritis, hiperuricemia, edemas. States in which an increase of the diuresis is required: cystitis, ureteritis, uretritis, oliguria, urolitiasis (mainly by phosphates), hiperazotemia, hiperuricemia, drop, arterial hypertension, edemas, overweight accompanied by retention of liquids.
Constipation, disquinesias biliary, situations that require the application of a laxative one.
Leaves: arterial hypertension.
Contraindications
Gastroduodenales, syndrome of the null and voidable intestine, hemorroides pregnancy, lactancia (to see precautions), gastritis, ulcers, treatment with cardiotónicos.
Not to prescribe oral forms of metering with alcoholic content to smaller children of two years nor to consultantes in process of etílica deshabituación.
Precaution/Poisonings
The lucidina and the rubiadina, result of hydrolysis of the lucidín-primaverósido one, are highly cytotoxic and genotóxicas. We recommended to avoid its prescription during the pregnancy, the lactancia and in any case, to dose and to prescribe in discontinuous form (Peris & to. 1995, 443).
Its use like diurético in the presence of hypertension, cardiopathies or moderate renal insufficiency or burdens, only must become by prescription and under medical checkup, before the danger that can suppose the uncontrolled contribution of liquids, the possibility that a tensional descompensación takes place.
To consider the alcoholic content of the fluid extract and the dye.
Galénicas Forms/Dosage
- Infusion: a teaspoon of coffee by cup. To instill 10 minutes. Two cups to the day, after the meals.
- Dust: 500 mg/ capsule, 1-4 to the day.
- fluid Extract (1:1): 30-50 drops, one to three times to the day.
- It tinctures (1:5): 50-100 drops, one to three times to the day.
