Description: Graft shrub from the base of to 2.5 m.s of height. Fluted, very flexible stems, of gray color - greenish. Simple leaves, very small, that they fall soon, leaving to the stem the asimiladora function. Inflorescencias in very dense lateral clusters. Very slight flowers with mariposada corola of yellow color. The fruit is a ovoidea, smooth vegetable, of yellowish color and with a seed in its interior normally.
Plant little studied scientifically. Mentioned like diurético, cardiac and laxative tonic. Popularly one was used like emenagogo, abortifacient and hipoglucemiante.
Indications
To the delay of farmacológicos and clinical works that deepen in the knowledge of this plant, and being well-known its potential toxicity (specially of the fruits), we advised against its prescription.
Contraindications
Pregnancy, lactancia, children.
Precaution/Poisonings
Its abortion use as is very dangerous, being able to reach toxic doses easily.
