Essential oil: alcohol esters of eremofilánico type (petasol, isopetasol), lactonas sesquiterpénicas. Inulina and other fructosanas, pectina. Plans of pirrolizidínicos alkaloids.
Farmacológica Action
The petasina is a powerful espasmolítico. In addition he is sedative, gastroprotector, antihypertensive, mucolítico and expectorante. The inulina confers diuréticas properties to him. In external use it has been used traditionally like healing.
Indications
Irritativa cough, bronchitis, enfisema, asthma.
Dismenorrea, migrañas.
States in which an increase of the diuresis is required: urinary affections (cystitis, ureteritis, uretritis, oliguria, urolitiasis), hiperazotemia, hiperuricemia, drop, arterial hypertension, edemas, overweight accompanied by retention of liquids.
Pregnancy, lactancia, children, patients with hepatopatías, by the presence of pirrolizidínicos alkaloids.
Not to prescribe oral forms of metering with alcoholic content to smaller children of two years nor to consultantes in process of etílica deshabituación.

Exclusive use by facultative prescription.
To consider the alcoholic content of the fluid extract and the dye.
Galénicas Forms/Dosage

- Decocción to 3%: one to three cups to the day.
- fluid Extract (1:1): 20-40 drops, one to three times day.
- It tinctures (1:5): 50-100 drops, one to three times to the day.
- dry Extract (5:1): 50 mg/cápsula, one or twice to the day.
To prescribe discontinuous treatments.
