Essential oil (5-15%): terpénicos hydrocarbons (pineno, canfeno, sabineno, dipenteno, sabineno, cimeno, alpha-tuyona, terpineno), terpénicos alcohol (borneol, geraniol), eugenol, safrol, elemicina and an important amount of miristicina (8%). Greasy matter (30-40%): miristina, glicéridos of acids oléico, linolénico, palmítico, mirístico.
Farmacológica Action
Stimulating of the appetite, digestive, carminativo, antiseptic, colerético, stimulating of the nervous, oxitócico system.
In topical use: rubefaciente.
Indications
Lack of appetite, dispepsias hyposecretory, meteorismo, diarreas, enterocolitis.
In topical use: halitosis, inflammations osteoarticulares, mialgias, neuralgias.
Contraindications
Not to prescribe the essential oil during the pregnancy, the lactancia, to small children nor to patients with neurological syndromes.
Not to administer, neither to apply topically to smaller children of six years nor to people with respiratory allergies or well-known hypersensitivity to this one or other essential oils.
Indirect effect
The moscada nut and its essential oil present/display, in extratherapeutic doses, narcotic and convulsivantes effects.
Galénicas Forms/Dosage
Internal use:
- essential Oil:
2-3 drops, two or three times to the day on a lump of sugar, or in an infusion.
Capsules (50 mg/cáps), two or three to the day.
External use:
- Liniment, prepared with "mantequilla of mirística", like rubefaciente.
