Family: Caprifoliáceas.

Description: Shrub with smooth stem, dehasta 5-6 m, voluble asarmentoso. The leaves are opposed, arranged to pairs, of coles green in the superior face and glaucas in the inferior one. Some are arranged pecioladas in the fertile small branches, whereas others knit until forming an only leaf avalizada with two extremities, in whose center arranges a knot to caulinar from which they leave diverse small branches. In the center pedúnculo is located floral, that maintains ramillete of flowers with corola of color purple or off-white yellow, tubular, divided in two lips: the superior one is tetralobulado and inferior, the whole one. The fruit is a fleshy berry that contains several seeds. It is common from the coast to the mountain, with preference by the forests and fences of hills. It is collected in spring.

Composed chemical: Essential oil, glucósidos, acid salicílico, tannin.

Properties: Emollient, expectorante, antispasmodic.

Way of use: Infusion, decocción, tincture.
