Active Principles
Oil (50%): glicéridos of licopodoléicos acids, fitosteroles; glúcidos; organic acids: caféico; it draws resin from; esporonina (derived cellulose). A hundred of alkaloids is had isolated (0,2%): licopodina, dihidrolicopodina, acetildihidrolicopodina, licodolina. Flavonoides: crisoeriol, luteolósido, apigenósido.
Farmacológica Action
- Sumidades aerial: espasmolítico, diurético and laxative (internal use).
- Esporas: protector of epidermis (topical use).
Indications
- whole Plant: States in which an increase of the diuresis is required: genitourinarias affections (cystitis, ureteritis, uretritis, pielonefritis, oliguria, urolitiasis), hiperazotemia, hiperuricemia, drop, arterial hypertension, edemas, overweight accompanied by retention of liquids. Espasmos gastrointestinales, disquinesias hepatobiliares.
- It plants: Pregnancy, lactancia, childhood (alkaloids). Renal or cardiac insufficiency.
- Esporas: Not to apply on open wounds.
Indirect effect
A great variability as far as the content in alkaloids has been observed and to the effects produced after its administration, being frequent the appearance of toxic phenomena: vomits, gastroenteritis with cólicos pains and, in animals, a oxitócico effect.
Precaution/Poisonings
Its use like diurético in the presence of hypertension, cardiopathies or moderate renal insufficiency or burdens, only must become by prescription and under medical checkup, before the danger that can suppose the uncontrolled contribution of liquids, the possibility that a tensional descompensación takes place or, if the potassium elimination is considerable, an involution of the effect of the cardiotónicos.
