Plant little studied. It contains mucílagos, salts potassium, acid organic and phenolic (litospérmico). Some authors suggest the possibility that she contains alkaloids (cinoglosina, consolicina), alantoína and possibly pirrolizidínicos alkaloids, like other borragináceas.
Farmacológica Action
Used popularly like antitusigeno, demulcente, antiinflammatory, diurético and sudorífico.
Pregnancy, lactancia, children, patients with hepatopatías.
Indirect effect
The pirrolizidínicos alkaloids are hepatotóxicos and carcinogénicos.
Precaution/Poisonings
The cinoglosina produces a paralyzing action.
Galénicas Forms/Dosage
- Infusion: a spoonful of dessert by cup, three or more cups to the day. In topical use, to apply in form of washings or cataplasms on the zone affects.
