The terrestrial ivy is a small plant, very common, with crawling stem, erquidas floríferas branches, small cordiformes leaves. The flowers have a tubuloso chalice with 15 nerviaciones and one bilabiada corola of violet color. The French farmacopea recommends its identification by means of the microscopic characters and the characterization of tannins. The test consists of a C.C.F. of a etanólico extract to 60% (terpenos).
Chemical composition
This species very has not been studied from the fitoquímico point of view. It contains triterpenos, ß-sitosterol, flavonoides (cimarósido, cosmiósido, hiperósido, isoquercitrósido) [ 687 ] and one small amount of essential oil with terpénicas ketones (pinocanfona) [ 683 ]. It has been possible to demonstrate the existence of quimiotipos being based on the nature of the sesquiterpenos: 684 glecomufurano or glecomanólido [ ]. It seems to be that the presence of marrubiína has not been confirmed.
Farmacológicos data
Preliminary tests have demonstrated that the terrestrial ivy stimulates the activity of the plaqetaria adenilato ciclasa. Its division leads to the isolation of the principle responsible for its activity. One is a fatty acid, octadecadienóico hidroxilado in 9, acid 9-hidroxi-10-trans, -12-cis-octadecadienoico [ 685 ]. The biological tests demonstrate that it is a partial agonist at level of receivers of prostaglandin E1 and D2. The terrestrial ivy has antiinflammatory properties in 686 sensibly identical tropismos broncopulmonares to those of marrubio [ ].
Use
This drug, little well-known, is used in the treatment of benign acute affections of bronchi and in the symptomatic treatment of the cough. The criomolida drug lacks acute and subacute toxicity (3 g/kg and 300 mg/kg/día, rat, to per you) [ 688 ].
