The red berries of alquequenje are of an exquisite bittersweet flavor, and is one that conserves them in candy or vinegar. In some places it is made ferment the wine with them. However, it is far better to directly take the berries from this plant, with no need to mix them with wine.

Urinary Litiasis: they favor the dissolution of the calculations of úricas salts and the river sand elimination. They prevent that the urinary sediments precipitate to form new calculations.

Drop and úrica arthritis: they facilitate the elimination of úrico acid (uricosúrica action).

Use: fresh or dry berries, at the rate of 10 or 20 in the morning, and other so many at noon. In decocción from 50 to 100 g of berries by liter of water, from which 3 or 4 cups to the day are taken.

Dust: The berries once dried crush themselves until turning them dust; they are possible to be taken from 2 to 3 gr. 3 times to the day.

Decocción: Berries boil themselves between 15-20 during five minutes in a liter of water; it is let rest and cool; the liquid is strained and it is sweetened to taste of each one; a glass is taken in the morning, with which a good purifying effect is obtained.

Wine: 200 are taken gr.. of dry berries or 100 gr.. of berries and 100 gr.. of also dry leaves and they are put to macerate in a liter of white wine. After a period of maceration between 1 and 2 weeks, during which it has been removed every day, the liquid filters and it is bottled. A small glass can be drunk after the main meals, thanks to its diurético effect.

Syrup: Starting off of a 10% of extract, a syrup can be prepared from which a great spoonful will be taken, three times to the day.
