Active Principles
Resin (20-25%) of complex composition: guayacirresinol, acids alpha and guayacónico, guayacínico, dihidroguayarético, guayarético beta. Essential oil (5%), rich in sesquiterpénicos alcohol: guayol, bulnesol; starch, benzóico acid, plans of vanilina.
Farmacológica Action
Salurético and uricosúrico, diaforético Diurético. In topical use: analgesic, antiinflammatory, rubefaciente.
Indications
States in which an increase of the diuresis is required: genitourinarias affections (cystitis, ureteritis, uretritis, pielonefritis, oliguria, urolitiasis), hiperazotemia, hiperuricemia, drop, arterial hypertension, edemas, overweight accompanied by retention of liquids.
In topical use: Inflammations osteoarticulares, muscular mialgias, contracturas.
Contraindications
Not to apply on altered dérmicas zones.
Not to prescribe forms of metering with alcoholic content for oral administration to smaller children of two years nor to consultantes in process of etílica deshabituación.
Precaution/Poisonings
It can be irritating of skin and mucous.
To consider the alcoholic content of the fluid extract and the dye.
Galénicas Forms/Dosage
- Decocción: a teaspoon of coffee by cup, to boil 10 minutes, three cups to the day, after the meals.
- fluid Extract (1:1): 25 to 50 drops, one or twice to the day.
- It tinctures (1:5): 50-100 drops, two or three times to the day.
- Resin, in dust: 0,1 to 1 g to the day, in three takings.
