Heterósidos diterpénicos: esteviósidos (6%), dulcósidos, rebaudiósidos To, B, C, D and E. Saponósidos. Essential oil: benzilic alcohol, alpha-bergamoteno, beta-burboneno, alpha and gamma-cadineno, calacoreno, clameneno, carvacrol, cosmosiína. Flavonoides: quercetósido, apigenol, austroinulina.
Farmacológica Action
Intensely edulcorante (the esteviósido one is 200-300 times sweeter than saccharose). Osmótico laxative of smooth action. Hipoglucemiante and hypotensile, slightly antibacterial.
Indications
Constipation. Sucedáneo of the sugar for diabetics.
Galénicas Forms/Dosage
- Infusion: a spoonful of coffee by cup. One or two cups to the day.
- Esteviósido, like edulcorante.
