Indications
Occasional, helping constipation in antihelmínticos treatments.
Contraindications
Pregnancy, lactancia, menstruation, cystitis, intestinal occlusion, acute abdomen, Gastroduodenal ulcer, hemorroides, syndrome of the null and voidable intestine, renal insufficiency or cardiac, treatment with cardiotónicos (to see precautions).
Indirect effect
To therapeutic doses, depending on individual sensitivity to the drug, or following prolonged treatments, can take place cólicos intestinal.
Precaution/Poisonings
To high doses it can produce violent intestinal cólicos, with vomits, and even digestive hemorrhages.
Its continued use can cause alterations of the intestinal mucosa (rectocolitis, rectocólicas melanosis) and loss of electrolytes, specially potassium (what it could tolerate an indirect involution of the effect of the cardiotónicos, if they are being taken).
He is not recommendable his for the treatment of the habitual constipation: he is preferable to prescribe laxative mechanics.
Galénicas Forms/Dosage
(To see precautions).
- fresh Fruits: 1-5 g/día (adult).
- Decocción: 5 berries by cup. To boil 5 minutes, 1 to 3 cups to the day.
- Juice of fresh plant: 10-30 g like laxative, 30-40 g like laxative.
- Extract fluido(1:1): 20 drops, two or three times to the day.
- It tinctures (1-10): 40 drops, three times to the day.
- Syrup (5% of fluid extract): 10 to 40 g, in uninformed (referred doses to adults).
- dry Extract (5:1): 50-100 mg/día.
In order to avoid disagreeable indirect effect, it is recommended to initiate the treatment with low doses.
