Place of origin: Native species of Europe and Oeste of Asia
Etimología: Prunus, Latin name of the wild plum tree. Spinosa, of the Latin spinosus-a-um, provided with thorns.
Description: Although it generally does not pass of bush or shrub, it can constitute arbolillo of up to 6 m.s of height, with the intrincate and thorny small branches. Eciduous, simple, lanceoladas or trasovado-elliptical, acute leaves, of sawed edge. They measure 2-4,5 cm. in length and 1-2 cm. in width. The beam is lampiño and envés pubescente or with some hairs, finishing lampiño with time. Very abundant, generally lateral, solitary flowers or occasionally in pairs. They measure 1-2 cm. of diameter and they are of white color. The flowers appear in April before the leaves. Globosos fruits of 10-12 mm of diameter, turgid, of black-bluish color, lampiños, something pruinosos, of rough taste.
Culture and uses: Its wood is used in tornería and to make canes. In some countries they make spirits with the fermentation of the endrinas. In Spain "pacharán" is used for the manufacture of the well-known;.

The fruits, occasionally the leaves, flowers and crust.
The crust (by root, trunk or branches), can be toxic.
Galénicas Forms/Dosage
- Decocción (fruits): a sopera spoonful by cup, to boil 5 minutes. To drink voluntarily.
- Decocción 2-3% (crust, leaves): a spoonful of dessert by cup, to boil 5 minutes and to instill during 10. Two cups to the day, after the meals. Also in external application, on the zone it affects.
- Infusion (flowers): a spoonful of dessert by cup, to instill 10 minutes, two or three cups to the day.
