Heterósidos cardiotónicos (cardenólidos) between which emphasizes the convalatoxina and the convalósido one or 3-ramnósido of the estrofantina; saponósidos: convalarina; heterósidos flavónicos.
Farmacológica Action
The heterósidos ones determine a cardiotónica action fast, but much more more fleeting than the digitalis. In addition, it increases to the diuresis when improving the circulation at renal level. The saponósidos flavonoides and harness the diurética and cardiotónica action. The convalarina has a laxative action.
Indications
One was used in the treatment of the hepática, renal insufficiency and cardiac, of the urolitiasis and hiperuricemia.

Precaution/Poisonings
The presence of heterósidos cardenólidos very active, exclusively makes its cardiotónico use as under specialized medical checkup and in form recommendable of standardized extracts.
The convalarina has in addition a hemolítica activity in vitro.
The poisoning is pronounced with nauseas, vomits and cardiac alterations that can produce the death by cardiac collapse.
Galénicas Forms/Dosage
For want of clinical tests that deepen in the possible therapeutic application of the convalaria like cardiotónico, we recommended to resort to the digitálicos to the use.
