Active Principles
Alantoína (0,6-0,8%); mucílagos (fructosanas); tannins (5%), essential oil; plans of pirrolizidínicos alkaloids; Fitosteroles (sitosterol); acids rosmarínico and litospérmico (dépsido of dihidrocaféico acid); asparagina (2%).
Farmacológica Action
Alantoína has a healing, reepitelizante effect; the mucílagos act like demulcente (hidratante, antiinflammatory); the tannins are astringents (the antidiarreico, hemostatic premises).
Indications
- internal Use (to see precautions): One has been used in the treatment of the gastritis, gastroduodenales, diarreas ulcers and syndrome of the null and voidable intestine.
- In topical use: Escoceduras, eczemas dry, prurito, cracks of the sines, ictiosis, psoriasis, dystrophy of the vulvovaginal mucosa, parodontopatías, tendinitis, bursitis, inflammations osteoarticulares, contusions, hematomas. Traditionally one was used to accelerate the consolidation of fractures.
Contraindications
- internal Use: One is not due to prescribe for oral use in: Pregnancy, lactancia or hepatopatías.
- topical Use: not to apply on open wounds.
Precaution/Poisonings
Its use must be limited the topical form. The prolonged use internally is dangerous since it contains hepatotóxicos pirrolizidínicos alkaloids that can produce hepática degeneration. In case of considering its prescription advisable, of following treatments short: not more than 4-6 weeks in a year.
Galénicas Forms/Dosage
Internal use (to see precautions):
- Decocción: a spoonful of dessert by cup. To boil 5 minutes. Three cups to the day.
- fluid Extract (1:1): 20-30 drops, 2-3 times to the day.
- It tinctures (1:10): 30-50 drops, 2-3 times to the day.
- dry Extract (5:1): 50 mg/cápsula, one to three to the day.
- Dust: 100-300 mg, one to three times to the day.
External use:
- Decocción: 5%, to instill two hours, to apply in form of washings or compresas.
- rallada, applied fresh Root in form of cataplasm on the zone to treat.
- Pomada (20% of fluid extract): 2-3 applications to the day.
