The alkaloids confer an analgesic, antiinflammatory and diurética action to him.
Indications
Crisis of drop.
Contraindications
Pregnancy, lactancia. Hepática or renal insufficiency.
Indirect effect
In internal use it can produce gastroenteritis.
Precaution/Poisonings
The treatment of the acute crises of drop requires one narrow medical monitoring.
The alkaloids, specially the colchicina, are very toxic, behaving like emetocatárticos, being able to produce, in case of poisoning, death by respiratory collapse or to leave serious sequels: leucopenia and depression of the immunity.
The accidental poisonings usually are rare, but with high index of mortality (30%), by the absence of a specific antidote.
Galénicas Forms/Dosage

- fluid Extract (0.35 % of colchicina): 1-3 drops, 2-3 times to the day.
- amorphous Colchicina U.S.P.: In the acute crises of drop they administer to 3 mg the first day, 2 mg second and later 1 mg/día.
