Of the family of the Cupresáceas.

It is used to fight the varices, varicose and hemorroides ulcers. It is astringent, vasoconstrictor, sudorífico, diurético and febrífugo. Also like expectorante. Good tonic of vejiga, therefore, used against the urinary incontinencia and problems of prostate.

Used Part

The mature gálbulos, also the leaves and the buds to tier to us.

Active Principles

- Gálbulos: procianidoles, essential oil (0.2 to 1%): pineno, canfeno, cadineno alpha, cedrol or "alcanfor of ciprés". Catéquicos tannins.

- Leaves: flavonoides: amentoflavona, cupresuflavona.

- Buds to tier to us: 0'2% of essential, rich oil in pineno, cafeno, terpineol, cedrol.

Farmacológica Action

Astringent (the antidiarréico, hemostatic premises, healing), venotónico, espasmolítico, vesical, stimulating, rubefaciente tonic, the analgesic premises, antiseptic, antiviral, queratolítico.

Indications

Varices, hemorroides, tromboflebitis, spasmodic cough, asthma, metrorragias, diarreas, enuresis. In topical use: varicose wounds, ulcers, herpes to zóster, neuralgias, warts, inflammations osteoarticulares.

Contraindications

Neurological pregnancy, lactancia, disturbances (pure essential oil by oral route).

Hipersensibilidad to this one or to other essential oils.

Not to prescribe forms of metering with alcoholic content to smaller children of two years nor to consultantes in process of etílica deshabituación.

Precaution/Poisonings

The essential oil of cypress, in elevated doses, is neurotoxic and has a oxitócico effect.

To consider the alcoholic content of the fluid extract and the dye.

Galénicas Forms/Dosage

Internal use:

- fluid Extract (1:1): 25 to 50 drops (0,5-1 g), two or three times to the day, before the meals.

- It tinctures (1:5): 50-100 drops, one to three times to the day.

- essential Oil:

2 to 4 drops, in a lump of sugar, two or three times to the day.

Capsules (25 to 50 mg/cáps.), 2 to 3 to the day.

Supositorios: 50 to 100 mg of extract, two or three times to the day (referred doses to adults).

Topical use:

- watery Solution of dye or extract flowed, applied in form of compresas or lotions.

- Decocción: 20 to 30 g/l, in form of washings or enemas (hemorroides), or pediluvios (fétida sweating).

- Pomadas (2-5 % of fluid or glicólico extract), like antivaricose and antihemorroidal.

- essential Oil: I touch on warts. To protect the surrounding zone with filante petroleum jelly.
