Description: Fragile, herbaceous, perennial plant, with thin, crawling stems, with emission of radículas at level of the knots, grows hung in cascade in the walls or rocks, where usually it is in shady places. The leaves have pecíolo of variable length, and are opposed in the base and alternating (the lamina presents/displays five or more lobes, finished in end), palminervias, later smooth, of a beautiful shining green color. The flowers, like the leaves, have in the extremity a length pecíolo and start of the bifurcation between two leaves. Chalice pentasépalo, tubular corola composed of two small lips: the superior one is divided in two lobes and the inferior one in three. The fruit is a quite long capsule, that remembers the spice nail, and that contains the seeds. It grows everywhere and during his harvesting, of April to October, it must be procured that the root is not lost.
Used parts: All the plant with the exception of the roots.
Note: Once dried the plant it loses practically all his consistency and it is reduced to dust with facility. Little in the fitoterapéutico field is used, with the exception of the popular use to apply the leaves squashed on recent wounds, as a hemostatic.
