Family: Composed.

Description: Herbaceous plant with axonomorfa root. Turgid, graft, slightly pubescente stem. Alternating, lanceoladas and winding, pecioladas or sésiles leaves according to the insertion level. Apical solitary small head with flowers purple, rarely white. Invólucro with overlapping brácteas. The fruit is aquenio of white color. This plant grows spontaneous in the field, preferredly in incultos places, rubbish and next to the ways. It measures on the average 60 cm. is collected at the end of summer.

Used parts: The root.

Composed: Centaurina chemistries, colorante, potassium, magnesium, tannin, mucílagos.

Properties: Bitter, stomach, diurética, antithermal tonic.

Way of use: Infusion, enolito, tincture, flowed extract, dusts, distilled water.

Note: This species is also used at the moment like digestive and to diminish the ardor produced by the infantile fevers. The centaurina is a very advantageous effective tonic in the difficult digestions. The distilled water is used, just as the aciano, like coiris in the conjuntivitis.
