Escrofulariáceas Family.

Description: Perennial plant with axonomorfa, graft root, pubescente and lignificado stem in the base. The leaves have pecíolo very small or they are even sesiles. Its insertion in the stem is variable, since they can be had verticilada form or alternates. The lamina is slightly tomentosa and the limb, lanceolado. The flowers are arranged in cluster, the corola is bilabiada, of white or red color; the chalice is pentalaciniado. The fruit is a carrying elipsoidal capsule of crestadas oval seeds. The plant can get to measure 50 cm. of height. Very frequent in culture by the beauty of its flowers. It is collected in summer.

Composed chemical: Mucílagos, gálico acid, resins, pectina, rinantina, bitter.

Antiflogísticas Properties: Resolventes.

Way of use: Infusion, cataplasm.

Note: Effective in all type of inflammations, it is also used in the hemorroides, where it develops a similar decongestant action to the one of the linaria. One has also been used in garglings against ulceraciones of the buccal cavity, and internally in the colitis and the pirosis. Externally it is applied like cataplasm on eritemas,
