Organic sulfur: sulfóxido of S-metilcisteína (SMCO). Glucosinolatos. Vitamins: To, complex B, C, K, and and U; inositol, mucílagos, glucurónico acid. The seeds contain a 40% of oil approximately: acids oléico, linoléico and erúcico.
Treatment with anticoagulants warfarina type, since its effect can antagonizar (D'Arcy).

Indirect effect
In nourishing use it can produce flatulencia.
Precaution/Poisonings
The tiocianato ion and the isotiocianatos derived from the glucosinolatos, exert on the man a antitiroidea, inductive action of the goiter. The content in tiocianato is maximum in the young leaves and between September and October (Mulet, 97; Trease).
Galénicas Forms/Dosage
- internal Use: The extracted juice of the leaves. One to three glasses to the day. For the treatment of the gastroduodenales ulcers usually it is associated to the potato juice.
- topical Use: The pressed fresh leaves have been used traditionally for the treatment of varicose ulcers.
