Plant little studied. The presence has been described of: abundant gálicos and catéquicos tannins (5-10%), flavonoides (quercetósido, quercitrósido, miricetrósido), leucoantocianósidos, histidina, hill; one assumes that they exist component of structure unknown with espasmolítica action.
Farmacológica Action
Due to its abundance in tannins it presents/displays an activity: astringent (antidiarréica, healing and hemostatic). In addition one considers espasmolítico, antipyretic, digestive and diurético.
Indications
Gastrointestinales Diarrea, espasmos, functional dismenorrea, uterine hemorrhages. States in which an increase of the diuresis is required: genitourinarias affections (cystitis, ureteritis, uretritis, pielonefritis, oliguria, urolitiasis), hiperazotemia, hiperuricemia, drop, arterial hypertension, edemas, overweight accompanied by retention of liquids.
In external use: estomatitis, glositis, faringitis, laryngitis, vulvovaginitis.
Contraindications
Not to prescribe alcoholic extracts to smaller children of two years nor to consultantes in process of etílica deshabituación.
Precaution/Poisonings
To consider the alcoholic content of the fluid extract and the dye, tinctures.
Galénicas Forms/Dosage
Internal use:
- Infusion: 30 g/l, to instill 10 minutes. Three cups to the day, after the meals. Frequently it is associated with valeriana and manzanilla, to equal parts.
- fluid Extract (1:1): 15-30 drops, one to three times to the day.
- It tinctures (1:10): 30-50 drops, two or three times to the day.
- Juice: one to three soperas spoonfuls to the day.
External use:
- Decocción: 60 g/l, to boil 15 minutes. To apply in form of colutorios, vaginal garglings, washings or irrigations.
