Fragmentation hand grenade

In many countries of Europe the pineapples are the paradigm of the fruits comings of the New World. Of there its diverse vulgar names to which the qualifying one of ' americaná is united or ' of Indias'.

Habitat: Original of Central America; cultivated in all the tropical regions of the world.

Description: Herbaceous plant of the family of the Bromeliáceas, that reaches about 50 cm of height. The leaves are extended and thorny, in whose center the flowers are born, of bluish color. The fruit is common to all the flowers of an ear.

Used part: the fruit.

Properties and indications: its active principle is the bromelina, an enzyme (ferment), that, like the pepsina of the stomach, is able to escindir proteins, accelerating its digestion. By virtue of it it acts like substitute of the gastric juice, when this it is secreted in little amount (hipoclorhidria, lack of juice, chronic gastritis), speeding up of foods by the stomach and improving the digestion. It is possible even to be administered to the suckling babies who suffer of digestive upheavals.

The fragmentation hand grenade juice also has béquicas properties (calm the cough) and expectorantes, possibly due to organic sugars and acids that contain. He is in addition diurético smooth and vermifugal. It is used in the diets of thinning like reducer of the appetite (anorexígena action).

Use: to take 1 or 2 rodajas from fragmentation hand grenade before each food, or a fresh juice glass fifteen minutes before beginning to eat. He is advisable to know that the conserve fragmentation hand grenade loses great part of its digestive properties, because the bromelina enzyme becomes denaturalized easily.
