Active Principles

Polisacáridos mucilaginosos: algina, fucoidina, lamirano or laminarina; polifenoles. Mineral Oligoelementos and salts: abundant iodine (in form of salts and together with proteins and lipids), potassium, bromine, chlorine, magnesium, calcium, iron, silica. Bitter Manitol, principles. D. and and vitamin provitamin Li'pidos (glucosildiacilglicéridos).

Farmacológica Action

The abundance of mineral salts makes of fucus a remineralizante plant. The iodine confers a tiroidea stimulating action to him, favoring the catabolic processes, reason why it is used like helping in the treatment of the overweight. The potassium salts are diuréticas. The great capacity of swelling of the algina, that is not absorbed intestinal, induces a sensation of gastric repleción. By the great capacity of adhesion and the power of coating of the colloidal solutions of the alginatos, it acts like protector of the digestive mucous. He is laxative smooth and, by his power absorbent, antidiarreico. The alginato of calcium is used like the hemostatic premises of fast action. Indications

Located Hipotiroidismo, obesity, adiposities, bulimia, gastroduodenales ulcers, hiperlipidemias, constipation, diarreas. In topical use wounds, epistaxis, dérmicas ulceraciones, dental hemorrhages.

Contraindications

Treatment with tiroideas hormones or antitiroideos agents.

Anxiety, insomnia, paroxística tachycardia, arterial hypertension, cardiopathies.

Not to prescribe forms of metering with alcoholic content for oral administration to smaller children of two years nor to consultantes in process of etílica deshabituación.

Precaution/Poisonings

Galénicas Forms/Dosage

Internal use:

- Decocción: 10-20 g/l. To boil 5 minutes, two to four cups to the day.

- fluid Extract (1:1): 20 to 40 drops, one to three times to the day, before the meals.

- It tinctures (1:5): 50-100 drops, one to three times to the day.

- Syrup (10% of fluid extract): a sopera spoonful, one to five times to the day.

- dry Extract (5:1): 0,3 to 1 g/día.

- Dust: 0,5 to 2 g, one to three times to the day, in capsules.

External use:

- Decocción, applied in form of compresas.

- Cataplasms of fresh seaweed.

- Baths.

- Pomadas.

- Dust, calcic alginato: applied on wounds, like healing.
