The Discorea Villosa, (Wild Yam) or wild yam is a plant which is used for medicinal purposes because tubers containing steroid saponins, some active ingredients used by the pharmaceutical industry for the synthesis of hormones like progesterone and cortisone. This plant has been used by traditional herbal medicine as a remedy for the treatment of inflammatory and gynecological problems. Mexican yam is a plant with higher content in diosgenia.
The Discorea Villosa, which uses the underground part of the stem, is recognized in the Chinese pharmacopoeia for its effective implementation in diverticulitis and irritable colon problems.

Usage Instructions
