Ingredients:

Black cohosh (Cimicifuga racemosa) root powder 55 mg

Black cohosh (Cimicifuga racemosa) extract 250 mg *

* (standardized to a minimum of 2.5% triterpene glycosides, 6.25 mg)

Other ingredients: dicalcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable stearic acid, vegetable magnesium stearate, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, silica.

How to use: As a dietary supplement for adults and teenagers over 16 years, one tablet daily with a meal. Do not exceed stated recommended daily dose for this product.

Comments: Contains no yeast, gluten, wheat, soy and dairy products. No sugar or salt added. It is free of dyes, preservatives and artificial flavorings. Suitable for vegetarians. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced diet.

Cimicifuga racemosa:

Herbaceous perennial that has a gnarled root of black color that gives the name of "Black cohost", from which emerges a stalk that can reach up to 1.8 m in height. The leaves are dark green, divided into three segments. It is also known by the name of snakeroot

Is used for medicinal purposes the root which enjoyed great popularity as a medicine among American Indians. Contains terpenes, isoflavones, tannins and glycosides including cimifugina, isoferúlico acid and formononetin. It is emmenagogue, antispasmodic and hypotensive. It is not known exactly how this plant works. Some authors attribute their effects to the presence fukinólico acid, which has shown estrogenic activity and vitro.

Used as an infusion, prepared by adding 1 teaspoon in 1 / 4 of a liter of boiling water, to treat female reproductive system disorders, in cases of painful or delayed menstruation. Appears to be quite effective in the treatment of hot flashes and other menopausal discomforts. The usual duration of treatment is 3 to 6 months

It is also used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and muscle pain or neurological. It has been found beneficial in cases of tinnitus

You should not use this plant during pregnancy. Nor is recommended to consume this plant patients with breast cancer. This plant can cause stomach upset and headaches, and heaviness in the legs and weight gain. However, there are no known adverse effects associated with chronic treatment. Not recommended the use of this plant with a history of breast cancer

In late 2004, has published a report on the efficacy and safety of the root of Squash in clinical studies that have been made, and various studies on the toxicity associated with this plant. The efficacy of black cohosh in treating post-menopausal symptoms seems beyond doubt. In regard to a case of hepatotoxicity observed in patients treated with the plant, it is not clear cause-effect relationship, although the authors recommend monitoring of liver enzymes during chronic treatment. In animal models, black cohosh has been shown not to induce breast cancer although the chronically treated animals that developed tumors showed a higher incidence of metastases than the control animals.

The extract of this plant contains ipriflavone, a substance that inhibits CYP1A2 and CYP2C9 isoenzymes of cytochrome P450 enzyme system may interfere with drugs metabolized by these enzymes. Although no data are available, this plant should be consumed with caution in the case of concomitant treatment with NSAIDs, psychotropic drugs, cyclobenzaprine, caffeine, phenytoin, tacrine, fluvoxamine, fluoxetine, fluvastatin, warfarin, etc.
