Family: Euforbiáceas.

Description: Biennial herbaceous plant, of approximately a meter of height, with axonomorfa root. The stem is turgid, fistuloso, maintains ramifications in the apex solely. The leaves are opposed, decusadas, lanceoladas, wide in the base, with the smooth margin. The inflorescencia is one umbela provided with three to five radios, acorazonadas or lanceoladas or oval brácteas. The flowers are masculine and feminine: first they are formed by lengths estambres, whereas the feminine ones have an ovary in the superior part of the masculine flowers. Both flowers have invólucro in form of snaped like a bwll chalice. The fruit is a smooth capsule to trilocular that it contains dark and rough oval seeds. It comes from the south of Europe and Eastern Asia and at the moment grows everywhere.

Used parts: Seeds, látex. Composed chemical Seeds: it draws resin from, fixed oil of acids palmítico, esteárico and oleic. Látex: euforbona, draws resin from, gálico, málico, acetic acid.

Properties: Coricida, revulsiva, laxative.

Way of use: Dusts, oil.

Note: From the seeds a laxative oil is obtained that by its drastic action has let be used. The resin of this species has still not been studied in depth and it thinks that it can replace, by his properties, to will cure. Sometimes látex has been used like hair remover, but with negative results because of the revulsiva action that it develops.
