Latin name: Helichysum arenarium DC.

The flowery sumidades.

Active Principles

Essential oil with nerol, alpha and beta-pineno, eugenol, linalol; lactonas sesquiterpénicas, acid caféico and ursólico, beta-sitosterol, flavonoides.

Farmacológica Action

Pseudo-ACTH has an action, from which it derives its antiinflammatory effect, Antitusivo and antialergénico.

Other actions: skin, healing, bacteriostática, hepatoprotectora, hipocolesterolemiante, espasmolítica, diurética, slightly colerética protector.

Indications

Bronchitis, asthma, nourishing rinopatías, reumatitis, allergies, urticaria, hepatitis, colecistopatías. In topical use: flebitis, soriasis, eczema, blefaroconjuntivitis, parodontopatías.

Contraindications

Obstruction of the biliary routes.

Not to prescribe oral forms of metering with alcoholic content to smaller children of two years nor to consultantes in process of etílica deshabituación.

Precaution/Poisonings

To consider the alcoholic content of the flowed extract, the dye and the syrup.

Galénicas Forms/Dosage

Internal use:

- Infusion: a spoonful of dessert by cup. Three or four cups to the day.

- fluid Extract (1:1): 30 drops, one to three times to the day.

- It tinctures (1:5): 50 drops, one to three times to the day.

- Syrup (10% of fluid extract): average to a sopera spoonful, three or four times to the day.

External use:

- Infusion: a sopera spoonful in 100 mililiter of water. To apply two or three times to the day, in form of washings or compresas.

- Cream (fluid or glicólico extract): two or three applications to the day.

Related species

The Helichrysum exists italicum G. Don that is original of the Mediterranean river basin which contains flavonoides and useful essential oil in treatments of affections of the skin such as dermatosis and allergies
