Family: Liliáceas.

Description: Perennial herbaceous plant, of approximately 40 cm. of height, provided with rizoma voluminous horizontal and numerous accidental roots. Raised, angular stem, with an inferior case. The leaves are sésiles, some amplexicaules, alternating, of elliptical form, with the acute apex, paralelinervias, superior page of celestial green clear and inner color green. The flowers are solitary and they are arranged in the armpit of the leaves with pedúnculo inclined. Perigonio is tubular, inflation in the base, target, finished in six licinias ovadas greenish. The fruit is a black globosa berry. It grows spontaneous in the forests of the average mountain. One collects in autumn and spring.

Used parts: Rizoma.

Composed chemical: Mucílagos, tannin, oxalato of calcium, saponina, asparragina.

Properties: Resolvente, hemolítico, hipoglucemizante.

Recommendation of use: Infusion, enolito, liparolito, oleolito.

Of interest: Rizoma is as effective as the dye of arnica to be used like antiequimótico. This same action obtains when applying cataplasms with rizoma. Also pomadas with action are prepared to harm it. The berries do not have to be used absolutely, since they are extraordinarily poisonous.
