Family: Saxifragáceas.

Description: Grass provided with abundant heavy root and radículas, from which it leaves to the simple stem and the leaves ready in rosette, pecioladas, acorazonadas, whole. The stem maintains to a leaf amplexicaula and in the apex a flower with the chalice pentasépalo and the corola is arranged pentapétala, of white color, with grained green clear. The fruit is a carrying elipsoidal capsule of the seeds. One grows up near the quagmires, marshes and peat bogs, and one occurs until the 3,000 ms of height. It measures on the average about 10 cm. is collected in summer and until end of autumn.

Composed chemical: Tannin, draws resin from, salts, mucílagos.

Properties: Astringent, to harm it, tonic.

Way of use: Infusion, dusts, tincture, distilled water, cataplasm.

Of interest: The water distilled of parnasia constitutes an effective coiris astringent. The plant is used in the alpine towns in decocción, like colutorio in the estomatitis, and crushed for the wounds. It also has a smooth diurética action. The dusts act like aspersivos on the wounds.
