Description: Tree provided with turgid and graft stem with one wins spherical, ramifications sharpened, of up to 10 ms of height. The leaves are made oval, oblong, something acuminadas, shining in the superior lamina, pubescentes in the inferior one, with the excellent nerviación. The flowers are solitary, with the chalice greater than the corola, that is yellowish. The masculine flowers have up to 24 estambres, and the 8 feminine ones. The fruit is a globosa with 8 compartments and 8 squashed, hard oval seeds and acuminadas, with the pulp of orange color yellow, viscous, sweet berry. The plant comes from Japan, although at the moment it is cultivated in all the Mediterranean river basin. The fruits are collected in winter.

Properties: Astringent, laxative, nutritious.

Way of use: Immature or mature pulp.
