Properties and indications: the root of jalapa contains diverse carbon hydrates, and the glucósidos ones convolvulina and jalapina, that are their active principles. Not to taste badly, he is useful to bleed the children. It also has vermifugal effect and emenagogo (it stimulates the menstruation).

Use: dust is taken from root, of 1 to 3 grams dissolved in the middle water glass hot and sweetened with 1-2 spoonfuls of honey or brown sugar. The infantile dose is of 50 milligrams (0.05 g) by kilo of corporal weight.

Precautions: not to administer it in case of colitis (inflammation of the intestine), nor during the pregnancy.
