Tree of the family of the Rosaceous ones, who produces black berries similar to the cherries. Their leaves, that smell like the bitter almonds, contain glucósidos cianogenéticos that release hydrocyanic acid, very toxic substance. Nevertheless, by distillation of those leaves, the water of lauroceraso is obtained, that has medicinal properties, and it is used like antivomiting (against vomits), sedative and antispasmodic.
