Description:

The grass of the esquinancia is a small plant that usually does not reach more than two handspans of height. The stock lasts during long time; nevertheless, the branches and the leaves renew every year. These branches are very fine and lack hair. The leaves are pointed and are born grouped in five or four groups in the different knots. It grows in dry and calcáreos places, specially in the quite stony and sandy ones to any altitude, or at level of the sea like in mountains near the 2,000 ms.

Flowering:

The grass of the esquinancia begins to bloom during the month of May and continues blooming the summer throughout, to finalize in autumn. Indications

Cystitis, urolitiasis, uretritis, nefritis, pielonefritis, prostatitis. Helping in the treatment of the obesity and the hypertension. Anginas (esquinancia).

Precaution/Poisonings

Its use like diurético in the presence of hypertension, cardiopathies or moderate renal insufficiency or burdens, only must become by prescription and under medical checkup, before the danger that can suppose the uncontrolled contribution of liquids, the possibility that a tensional descompensación takes place or, if the potassium elimination is considerable, an involution of the effect of the cardiotónicos.

Administration:

- Decocción: in form of gárgaras or cataplasms.
