Active Principles

Triterpénicos derivatives: asiaticósido, centellósido. Abundant tannins (20-25%); essential oil. Fitosteroles. Mucílagos.

Farmacológica Action

The asiaticósido one stimulates the fibroblástica activation, with which it has a reepitelizante effect, action reinforced by the effect astringent of tannins. In addition he is antiseptic, and antipruriginoso.

Internally it presents/displays a general, antidepressing and venotónica action tonic.

Indications

- In topical use: dérmicas wounds, ulcers, eczemas, intértrigos, eritema, striae, burns, psoriasis, cervicitis, vulvovaginitis, dérmicas, buccal or corneales dystrophy of the vulvovaginal mucosa, ulceraciones, blefaritis, conjuntivitis, queratitis, parodontopatías, faringitis, dermatitis, eritemas, prurito.

- oral Administration: Venous insufficiency, nervous depression.

Contraindications

Not to prescribe forms of metering with alcoholic content for oral administration to smaller children of two years nor to consultantes in process of etílica deshabituación.

Gastritis, gastroduodenal ulcer: the tannins can irritate the gastric mucosa, this indirect effect can be palliated associating it to drugs with mucílagos, like the malvavisco.

Galénicas Forms/Dosage

Topical use:

- Cataplasms of fresh plant, applied on the zone to treat.

- Dusts: To apply 2 times to the day, on the zone to treat.

- flowed, glicólico Extract or tinctures, in form of coiris or ocular bath (to isotonizar), pomada, tul greasy, vaginal pulverizations or ova.

Internal use (to see precautions):

- Infusion: A teaspoon of coffee by cup. Three cups to the day.

- fluid Extract (1:1): 10-30 drops, three times to the day.

- It tinctures (1:10): 50 drops, three times to the day.

- dry Extract (5:1): 100 mg, one to three times to the day.
