This is a species of old and extended medicinal use to a large extent of our country, where it is recommended for stomach ache, intestinal parasites, shyness, diarrea, cólicos, hepáticas affections, bile, vomit, indigestión, pain teeth, intestinal washings and to expel gases. The treatment consists of the cofoundation of the branches, with or without flowers, in sahumerio or fried to apply of oral way or in the affected part; other forms of use are in baths, greased, in promotions or inhaled, sometimes mixed with other plants. One says, in addition, that it serves for diseases of respiratory type like cough, fever, influenza and bronchitis. The Cempasúchil is in San Luis Potosí, Chiapas, State of Mexico, Puebla, Sinaloa, Tlaxcala and Veracruz, as also we can find it in Panama and Centro America.

Herbaceous annual of 50 to 100 cm. of height, very graft. The leaves present/display ribbings with the dentated edges and their circular flowers are of yellow color. It has his origin in Mexico and it inhabits in climates warm, semiwarm, dry and tempering. It grows in orchards and lands of culture; she is associate to different types from tropical forest caducifolia, subcaducifolia, forests thorny, mesófilo of mountain, encino and pine.
