During many centuries the humanity has used as the prongs of this thistle to rebuke the wool. From its name comes to him there. Although in the present time this task is made with average mechanics, the card thistle continues offering its good services to us as it plants medicinal.

Properties and indications: all the plant, and specially its root, contains escabiósido glucósido called, acid potassium salicílico and salts. This explains its medicinal properties: diurética (it increases the production of tinkles) and sudorífica (it increases perspiration).
The root of the card thistle is good a purifying one of the blood. Their effects are moderate but persistent, and can be taken in any amount, because the organism tolerates it very well. It is specially useful in the following cases:
Excess of liquids in weaves: edemas or hidropesía of any cause.
Excess of úrico acid (arthritism). It favors the elimination of úrico acid and other substances of remainder that circulate around the blood.
Acne, eccemas and eruptions: it increases the production of sweat, and with it the elimination of substances that irritate the skin.
Use: decocción with 40-50 grams by root crushed in 2 liters of water. To boil until the liquid is reduced to half. To leak and to sweeten with honey. Several cups to the day drink. The treatment must last several months.
