This plant is and it is used in the America Center, Panama and center of Mexico. The cofoundation of the leaves mainly is used like tea for the pain and stomach and diarrea inflammation; hepáticos vomit, amoebas, cólicos and malaises; and for the cases of gripa, bronchitis, cough and tosferina one interferes warms up the infusion of the branches or the root is soaked to take itself as water from use. Its baking mixed with other plants serves to alleviate gynecological and menstrual problems. A macerated portion of the plant is used in other parts of the country in tea form with the branches or, to directly resist the punctures of scorpion or other insects, placing them in the affected part.

Its growth is wild and is associate with the tropical forest caducifolia, subcaducifolia, perennifolia, scrub xerófilo, thorny forest, mesófilo of mountain, encino and compound of pine.
