Etimología: Prunus, Latin name of the wild plum tree. She-wolf, of the Latin trilobus-a-um, with three lobes, talking about to its leaves.
Description: Shrub or arbolillo caducifolio of up to 5 ms of stature with leaves ovadas or obovadas of 2.5-6.5 cm. in length and 2-3 cm. in width, cuneadas in both ends, sometimes trilobadas in the young buds. Margin doubly sawed; slightly pubescentes in envés. Target-pink flowers of 2-2,5 cm. of diameter, tapeworms or in pairs, seating. It blooms of March to April, before the appearance of the leaves. Red, globosos and tomentosos fruits of around 1 cm. of diameter.
Culture and uses: It prefers acid, rich grounds slightly and not too humid, with sunny exhibition or average shade. By means of the pruning one forms with little tree bearing, requiring of a regular pruning for a greater flowering. Sensible to the attack of cochinillas and pulgones.
