The bitter SWEDISH, also called ELIXIR SWEDISH, is a product of the European tradition, whose use dates back to the middle age and could have more ancient origins.
The Swedish medical Jonathan SAMST, in the eighteenth century studied the traditional formulas and set the foundation formula we know today.
Mary Trébos, an Austrian herbalist, rediscovered the product at the beginning of the twentieth century, due to some personal experiences, after a season in which he fell into disuse due to the advancement of chemically synthesized drugs.
Maria Trébos, who died in 1991, he published two books that became famous and still sold today. The titles are in French: La Santé à la Pharmacie du Bon Dieu and Les Guérisons Maria Treben.
It is a product rich in plants bitter, macerated in wine Malaga, with the addition of camphor and Chinese Theriaca magna.
The Theriaca or triac, is a well-known in pharmacy electuario whose invention dates back to the second century BC. Was used until the eighteenth century, with its complex preparation and pharmacists from across Europe hasten in the best composition. The most famous was that of Venice.
It was traditionally used as a tonic, digestive and depurative cures for spring, when Chinese medicine would say that dominates the "timber".
It is laxative, especially when it contains Aloe, but not all Swedish bitters market incorporate this plant, some replaced by the less forceful.
Has many other kinds of applications for internal and external, that make it a traditional remedy "multipurpose".
It was very well preserved and apparently does not lose effectiveness over time.
People with problems, weakened and especially those with cardio-circulatory disorders should consult their employment with the doctor.
