USES:

Although the body needs only tiny amounts, iodine plays a vital role in health and general welfare.

The thyroid gland uses iodine to produce the hormones thyroxine and tri-iodo thyroxine, which control our metabolic rate, the rate at which our body burns fats and sugars for energy. Iodine is also required for normal growth and development and health of the skin.
